After driving a supply truck and being continually ambushed and attacked for almost a year, he loses faith in his belief that the US is actually helping the people of Iraq.

When Danny is taken hostage by one of the insurgent groups, no one tries to rescue him. The military doesnt want him because he works for Blackwater and is therefore considered to be a mercenary. Dannys salvation comes from an unlikely source, a group he previously considered his enemies. That group teaches Danny what it truly means to be an Iraqi and a Muslim.
